The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MOEST) has issued a directive instructing not to lure service recipients with unnecessary temptations in the name of educational consultancy. The Ministry, issuing a 12-point directive, has requested consulting institutions, students, and parents to remain aware of this matter. Out of the 12 points issued by the Ministry, eight are related to the educational consultancy profession, while four are related to students and parents.

It has been instructed to consultancy professionals not to present temptations such as free visas, employment guarantees, dependent visa availability, and similar inducements while providing foreign educational consultancy services. Complaints had been received that consulting bodies were offering temptations to service recipients.

In the directive provided to consultancy professionals, the Ministry has also instructed not to organize educational fairs, gatherings, or educational exhibitions without obtaining approval. The Ministry has also directed consultancy service providers not to recommend students for study in universities and educational institutions that are not listed in official records or have not completed the registration process.

Likewise, students and parents have been requested to take consultancy-related services only from institutions that have obtained permission for foreign educational consultancy, and to verify whether such institutions have received approval from the Ministry or not.

In the notice issued by the Ministry, it has also been mentioned that if any institution is not legally established and has not obtained permission from the concerned Ministry to provide services, students and parents are also requested to inform the local administration and police and seek cooperation accordingly.
