Ministry of Home Affairs Transfers Chief District Officers Transfers

On the 16th of June 2023, the Ministry of Home Affairs announced significant transfers of Chief District Officers (CDOs) across various districts. The transfers have been initiated primarily based on the fulfillment of term limits and accessibility considerations.

Rotational Transfer of Joint Secretaries

Several Joint Secretaries who served the Ministry of Home Affairs, initially transferred from the Ministry of General Administration, have also been subjected to this change. Additional staff at the ministry, as well as those who have completed their term in their current district, have been repositioned, based on the criterion of accessibility.

Key Transfers Among CDOs

Prominent among these reshuffles include Gopal Kumar Adhikari, previously serving in the additional capacity at the ministry, who has been appointed as the CDO of Kanchanpur. Likewise, Shant Bahadur Sunuwar has been appointed as the CDO of Rolpa.

In the meantime, the former CDO of Kanchanpur, Gopal Prasad Aryal, has been designated as the CDO of Doti. Similarly, Rajendra Pandey has moved from Makwanpur to Siraha, while Bhojraj Khatiwada has relocated from Siraha to Khotang.

Kalpana Shrestha from Doti has been appointed as the Chief District Officer of Nawalparasi East, while Surya Sedhain of Khotang takes up the mantle in Makwanpur. Parmanand Ghimire has been transferred from Rolpa to Kavre.

Transfers Among Assistants and Section Officers

The ministry has also relocated Krishna Bahadur Khadka to the Prison Office Morang, while Assistant CDO Anuj Ghimire of Ramechhap has moved to the Area Administration Office Dharan. Additionally, Ganga Bahadur Chhetri, the Assistant CDO of Jajarkot, has been transferred to Kaski. Mahesh Kumar Pokharel of Kavre has been brought back to the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Simultaneously, 28 Section Officers from various departments, including Tribhuvan Airport Immigration, National Identity Card and Registration Department, and Immigration Department have been relocated out of Kathmandu, owing to the completion of their service period and urban living conditions.

This comprehensive transfer of roles is expected to bring fresh perspectives to these positions and enhance the effectiveness of the ministry's administration.
