The Ministry of Health and Population has recommended to CCMC to postpone the Class 12 examination. The CCMC on Friday recommended to the Ministry of Education, Science & Technology to postpone the examination, which will be conducted from Shrawan 31, as the risk of corona infection is increasing at a high rate. Following the recommendation, the ministry sent a letter to the National Examination Board (NEB) on Friday for further opinion.
Chairperson Chandra Mani Poudel clarified that the board has received a letter requesting to postpone the examination schedule as the number of corona infections is increasing by three and a half thousand daily and the Ministry of Health is not in a position to provide vaccination and health desk at the examination center.
He said that the board has written to the Ministry of Health to arrange vaccination for students and teachers and all those participating in the center and to set up a health desk at the examination center to prepare the basis for conducting the examination from July 15. "In response to the letter, the Ministry of Health has sent a letter to the CCMC stating that it cannot provide vaccinations to students and teachers and even the health desk at the center," said Poudel. "Now the board will meet on Saturday and make some decisions."
Stating that NEB is making all preparations for conducting the examination in the physical presence of the students, the Ministry of Health said that it could not make arrangements as it did not have the vaccine. Chairman Poudel clarified that the board will decide on Saturday whether to move the examination or change the modality.
Controller of Examinations Krishna Sharma said that he has already given orientation to the examination center chairpersons across the country on the conduct and management of examinations. He added that the board had also printed question papers, adding that "political parties should agitate and crowd, but the board should not conduct examinations even after adopting all the standards of health security." He added, "Class 12 is the main gate to university entrance. It must be in physical presence. Nepali students cannot be sold in the world market with Kovid's educational certificate. '
He said that the board has directed the chairpersons to maintain the physical distance, maintain only 25 students in a class and conduct the examination with only one student on a bench. "Home centers have been set up in all the universities conducting the same class 12," said Comptroller Sharma. "Examinations can be conducted by adopting health safety standards." In addition, in the recent medical entrance examination, more than 32,000 students participated in the examination by adopting all the criteria of health security in physical presence.
