The Education Act stipulates that schools must implement curricula and textbooks approved by the Government of Nepal. As per Rule 35 of the Education Regulations 2059 (with amendments), only additional textbooks or textbooks included in the list of textbooks approved by the Curriculum Development Center are required.
Complaints have been received from various publishers and book dealers that the textbooks do not include revised maps of Nepal, are not on the approved list / approved by the Curriculum Development Center, and have published and sold textbooks without modifying and updating as per the rules.
Publishers, booksellers, schools, teachers, parents, students, and all stakeholders should not be allowed to publish, sell and use the textbooks without including the revised map of Nepal in the approved textbooks and only after obtaining the approved textbooks as per the prevailing law.
