
Mid-West University to Hold Its Third Convocation Ceremony on March 7
Mid-West University (MWU) announced that it will hold its third convocation ceremony on Friday, March 7 (Falgun 23). During a press conference, the university stated that the ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. at the Central Administrative Building in Kuinepani, Surkhet.
Established in 2010 (2067 BS), Mid-West University currently has 3,841 students enrolled. Of these, 885 will participate directly in the convocation ceremony. Students from various faculties will be conferred degrees at the bachelor's, master's, M.Phil, and Ph.D. levels.
The university's chancellor and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli will chair the ceremony. The Education, Science, and Technology Minister and university Co-Chancellor Vidya Bhattarai will also attend. Professor Dr. Mahendra P. Lama, founding Vice Chancellor of Sikkim Central University and professor at Jawaharlal Nehru University in India, will participate as the chief guest.
Outstanding students will receive special recognition during the ceremony. Three students with the highest achievements at the master's level will be awarded the Chancellor's Medal, while three outstanding bachelor's level students will receive the Vice-Chancellor's Medal. Additionally, 35 students—11 from master's and 18 from bachelor's programs—will receive special medals and certificates.
According to the university, students from the faculties of Humanities and Social Sciences, Education, Management, Science and Technology, Engineering, Agriculture, and Journalism will be graduating. University officials have stated that all preparations for making the ceremony grand and well-organized are in the final stages.
