Mathematics Subject Compulsory in Class 11 and 12:
Mathematics is also compulsory in Class 11 and 12. A meeting of the National Curriculum Development and Evaluation Council chaired by Education Minister Krishna Gopal Shrestha has decided to make mathematics compulsory in classes 11 and 12.
Students will now be able to choose Social Studies & Lifeskills Learning Education or Mathematics.
Earlier, mathematics was placed in the fourth group in the new curriculum. As it was optional, students could study only if they wanted to. Nepali, English and social studies, and lifeskills learning were made compulsory subjects.
"If students take social studies and life skills learning as a compulsory subject, they will be able to take mathematics as an elective subject," said the executive director of the center. We have opened both ways. ” Both these subjects are of five credit hours.
There was even a writ petition on the subject of the course. The Supreme Court had issued a directive order to implement the new curriculum and resolve disputes over mathematics. According to this, from the coming academic session, reading will be done according to the new curriculum.
Similarly, the council meeting has also approved a new curriculum for elementary education (ECD), class 6-8, and class 9-10. According to the new academic session of 2078 BS, textbooks will be taught in all schools of ECD and class 6-8, and textbooks of class 9-10 will be taught in some schools. This year classes 6-8 were taught as a test in 28 schools across the country and now the new textbooks for classes 9-10 will also be taught in those schools.
