Madhesh Pradesh Chief Minister Lal Babu Raut has said that Madhesh Province will be made a hub of technical education. He said that the Madhesh Institute of Health Sciences (MIHS) plans to make Madhesh Pradesh proud.

Speaking at the first-anniversary celebration of MIHS in Janakpurdham on Thursday, Chief Minister Raut said, “Establishment of Madhesh Institute of Health Sciences (MIHS) is the first step in the campaign to make it a hub of technical education and the Madhes government plans to develop it as a pride not only of the Province but also of the country. ‘

He said that the commencement of undergraduate studies in four subjects at MIHS within a year, which started in the dire situation of Corona's terror, was the first step in the campaign to make Madhya Pradesh a hub of technical education. He said that the operation of Special Covid Hospital and special services at MIHS was a welcome development.

Stating that the efforts of the officials and doctors of MIHS are commendable, he said, "The Province government is ready to provide all necessary assistance to MIHS in the coming days to achieve its objectives and everyone's support is required in this."

The Province government has established an agricultural university in Rajbiraj of Saptari under the campaign to make the Province a hub of technical education; He also informed that preparations for the establishment of Science and Technology University in Birgunj are in the final stage.

Similarly, the bill related to technical education is also under consideration in Parliament; Expressing confidence that the bill would be passed within a month, he said that the teaching of technical education in community schools across the Province would be facilitated as soon as the bill is passed.

He clarified that although it was not necessary to bring a bill related to technical education, it was necessary to bring a bill to bring CTEVT under the control of the Province. Chief Minister Raut, who is also the Vice-Chancellor of Madhes Health Sciences MIHS, claimed that he would not move from his current position.

Although the land under Guthi is currently leased by Manipal, there is no possibility of relocating MIHS as the Province has already started the process of land acquisition.

He said that the current land of MIHS formed by the Madhesh Pradesh government also automatically belongs to the Province government as the public and Guthi lands within the Province are constitutionally under the Province.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Social Development Nawal Kishore Sah said that the work done by MIHS within a year was commendable and added that the Province government would not hesitate to extend any kind of assistance for its development.

Complaining that Madhesh Pradesh is lagging behind in the health sector, he said that MIHS would prove to be a cornerstone for the development of technical education.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ram Kewal Sah, Vice-Chancellor of MIHS, said that MIHS has reached this stage due to the support provided by the Madhesh Pradesh government since its formation and he is confident that it will continue to develop in the future.

He termed MIHS as a proud project of Madhesh Pradesh and expressed confidence that MIHS would play a significant role in producing skilled manpower in the field of technical education and health.

Oncologist Dr. Awadhesh Kumar Sah, former Medical Superintendent of Janakpurdham Provincial Hospital Dr. Vijay Kumar Singh, and others expressed their views on the program.
