Urgent Notice from the Department of Transportation Management that the fares of inter-province public transport passenger and freight vehicles are automatically adjusted based on the price of fuel.
In case of an increase or decrease of 5% or more in the market price of fuel which is considered the basis for adjusting the fares of public transport, according to the scientific fare adjustment system being practiced by the department, the arrangement of automatically increasing or decreasing the fare of Antar Pradesh public transport will be implemented as per the decision of this department dated 2078-12-17.
The market price of diesel-based on the last fare adjustment has been increased from Rs. 138 (per liter) to Rs. 5 / - on 2078-12-22 and Rs. 10 / - on 2079-01-31. At present, the market price of diesel is Rs. 153 / - per liter. That price is 10.86% higher than the base price in the last adjustment.
With effect from 2079-02-04, the fares of public transport operating in two or more provinces (on national level routes) have been adjusted according to the following automatic system.
Automatic adjustment of the type of public transport fare
1) Passenger ride - 3.5% (increase)
2) Cargo vehicles operating on hilly roads - 4.65 (increase)
3) Freight vehicles operating on Terai roads - 5.1% (increase)
