Limited Branches of the Banks will be Open:
A limited branch of banks and financial institutions is about to open.
The informal discussion between the officials of Rastra Bank and officials of the Nepal Bankers' Association decided to open a limited number of branches to facilitate banking transactions even during the lockdown.
Chairman of Nepal Bankers' Association, Bhuvan Kumar Dahal, said that during the lockdown, a limited number of customers were set to open to provide essential services even though the number of customers was low.
'We have made all payments free of charge for doing business through mobile banking internet banking, it can be done from one bank to another and from one account to another, there is no charge. Our aim is to make use of online payments more, but not everyone will make online payments, for which we have said that we will open a limited branch, ”said Dahal.
Devkumar Dhakal, executive director of Nepal Rastra Bank said that the bank and the bankers' association had discussed whether to open the bank and said that the bank would support and facilitate the decision made by the association.
The government was announcing the lockdown, leaving confusion about whether banks would open or not open banking services. In view of the government's directive, banks and financial institutions were not open.
Now the bankers' association and the concerned banks will take initiative with the local administration to ask for special passes to open the banks. They are said to be facilitated by the National Bank and the Ministry of Finance if necessary. However, the respective banks will issue information on which banks open their branches.
