Launching TBC Incubation Centre: A Beacon for Entrepreneurial Excellence
On 30th November, The British College officially launched the “TBC Incubation Centre”, a groundbreaking initiative designed to foster innovation, support emerging startups, and empower the next generation of entrepreneurs.
Located within the College, The Incubation Centre boasts a comprehensive array of services and resources, including a resource hub and customised support, as well as offering specialised programmes, workshops, and networking opportunities. In this way, the Centre provides a dedicated space for entrepreneurs to collaborate, gain access to mentors, and attend events that facilitate valuable connections within the business community.
The Launch began with opening remarks from the Deputy Principal and Keynote Speaker, Dr Patrick McCrudden - who was then followed by the TBC Incubation Lead, Mr Subodh Rupakheti. Along with the two Support Officers who also spoke at the event, Rupakheti unveiled plans for the upcoming year, which included events such as the TBC StartUp Fest. He also outlined the Centre’ vision for the upcoming years, emphasising expansion, increased impact, collaboration initiatives, and specialised incubation tracks.
He further explained that at the core of the Centre is a team of professionals who work together to ensure the security and resilience of startups in an ever-evolving digital landscape, and added that “The Centre invites entrepreneurs, startups, and businesses to explore membership options, incubation programmes, and internship opportunities - and welcomes collaboration proposals from businesses looking to sustain and grow in the market”.
Two Special Guests then delivered speeches - Mr John Park, the Former Google Head of Product Management and TBC Alumni and Founder of Felt and Yarn Pvt Ltd, Ms Sunita Sherpa. The event was then closed by the CEO and founder of the College, Mr Rajen Kandel, who cut the ribbon to officially open the Centre.
Kandel said of the event, “This represents a significant milestone in the institution's commitment to nurturing a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation and we are excited that this dynamic hub will now provide a launchpad for aspiring entrepreneurs to transform visionary ideas into thriving businesses”.
