The Lalitpur District Sports Development Committee has announced that the Sports Award 2081 ceremony will be held on May 9, 2025 (Baisakh 27, 2082 BS).
This information was shared during a press conference held at the Karate Academy Hall in Satdobato, which Bagmati Province's Youth and Sports Minister Min Krishna Maharjan attended.
The awards program aims to recognize Lalitpur district athletes who have won medals in local, national, and international sports competitions between April 13, 2024, and April 12, 2025 (Baisakh 1 to Chaitra end, 2081 BS).
The organizers have stated that only athletes from the Lalitpur district will be included in the awards program to encourage local participants, while departmental athletes will not.
The Lalitpur Sports Award, with the Bagmati Province Sports Development Council as the main sponsor, will present awards in three categories: best male athlete, best female athlete, and best coach. Each winner will receive a prize of 100,000 Nepali rupees. Outstanding male and female athletes and coaches will receive 50,000 Nepali rupees each.
The best and outstanding athletes and coaches will be presented with trophies designed after the Patan Krishna Temple. According to the organizers, a selection committee will recommend three names each in the female, male, and coach categories, from which the best will be selected.
Binod Maharjan, Chairperson of the Lalitpur District Sports Development Committee, stated that approximately 300,000 Nepali rupees would be spent on the awards ceremony.
