New schools will not be opened in any place within the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) area. The Municipality has decided not to allow the new schools to operate in order to make the existing school's quality. The KMC Department of Education said that the school was barred from granting permission for a new school because of the number of schools in terms of the student population.
There are 91 public and 643 institutional schools in the Kathmandu Municipal Corporation area. One lakh 65 thousand students are studying in those schools. Of these, one lakh 58 thousand 971 are studying in institutional schools and the rest in community schools.
The Kampa has made such arrangements with the local level of responsibility for the operation and management of the schools legally. According to Nirmala KC, head of the Kampa Education Department, this type of work has been carried out as there is a need to organize those even after starting a new school.
One thousand 830 teachers are working in 91 community schools in the metropolis. Likewise, the Kampa has arranged to take the necessary approval of the Kampa Education Department for taking the teachers, staff, and parents of the school on any foreign tour, training, meeting, observation tour, sports, friendly tour or educational trip abroad.
Likewise, it is said that from the upcoming academic session, Nepal will apply the language, sustainable development, environmental education, traffic management as a local curriculum.
