Kathmandu University is going to start teaching new subjects in Nepal at the postgraduate level. The university, which is teaching Masters in Business Economics (MBE) under the Faculty of Management, has given information in a press conference. The university hopes that the new subject will help to combine the principles of economics and the purely professional side.
At the press conference, the Dean of the Faculty of Management, Professor Devi Prasad Sharma said, "Students studying for a Masters in Business and Economics will be able to meet the current shortage of creative manpower in the market. ”
The university has stated that it is going to start teaching this subject after five years of preparation. Claiming that this subject is being taught only in the world's prestigious universities, Sharma said, "This subject will be helpful in connecting economics and trade. ”
Program Requirement
KUSOM MBE is open to Nepali and non-Nepali nationals with
- A Bachelor’s degree of at least three years’ duration in any discipline.
- Minimum of 50 percent marks in aggregate or 2 CGPA (from universities approved by Kathmandu University).
Selection Process
Upon submission of the completed application form with two letters of recommendation, transcripts of previous degrees, and the payment of admission test, the Admission Committee administers the admission process.
The selection of the candidates is based on:
- Scores on the KUSOM Management Admission Test (KUMAT), consists of verbal and quantitative reasoning, data interpretation, and proficiency in the English language,
- Analytical writing, personal interview; and
- The merit of academic attainments up to the undergraduate level
Eligibility:
- Nepali and Non-Nepali nationals with three years of work experience and a Bachelor's degree of at least two years duration in any discipline with 45 percent in aggregate or CGPA 2.0 on a scale of 4 or Master's degree in any discipline with 45 percent in aggregate or CGPA 2.0 on a scale of 4.
OR
- Six years of work experience and a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent of at least two years duration in any discipline with a minimum of 40 percent in aggregate or CGPA 2.0 on a scale of 4 from universities recognized by Kathmandu University.
Applicants are required to sit for Kathmandu University Management Admission Test.
