Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Launched Mobile App for COVID-19:

Kathmandu Metropolitancity on Sunday released the 'Nepal Covid 19 Surveillance System' to monitor the possible epidemic of the Coronavirus (Covid-19).

Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Vidyasundar Shakya Launched the system from the national auditorium by linking system developers to video conferences from their own places.

The system maintains fact-checking and analysis information by expert doctors, statisticians, geographic information-technology specialists associated with Covid-19. Based on the details filled out by the person in the app, he has received information such as whether or not he had a coronary infection, whether he should take precautions, stay at home or go to a health institution.

The developers have said that the system will assist in reducing the crowded condition of people at risk of infection. Responding after inaugurating the system, Chief Shakya said, "There should be no unnecessary hassle and expense in service delivery only if there is no ill-treatment in the area where the service should be provided. We are making our services agile and organized. The system is for that. '

Chief Shakya also said that this system will help to easily identify the probability of infection of Covid-19 and to assess the severity of the person's condition themselves.

The developer and information systems expert Bhushan Raj Shrestha said that the epidemic could be put to regular use even after the epidemic came under control.

How to get information?

Downloading the Kovid-19 App from Play Store will take some time, as recently the Kathmandu Metropolitan City's website has been made downloadable from the website www.kathmandu.gov.np

This will allow users to fill in information about themselves or their relatives. The doctors and health workers in the system will inform them about whether they are in danger.

People will have to update their status in the app three times a day. Health workers will advise on the condition of the person staying at home or going to the hospital.
