Kathmandu Metropolitan City Announces 4,624 Scholarships for Class 11 Students
Kathmandu Metropolitan City has allocated 4,624 scholarship quotas for Class 11 students across 390 institutional educational institutions within the metropolitan area for the academic year 2081/82.
Scholarship Quotas and Distribution
- Determination Criteria: The scholarship quotas have been determined based on the enrollment ratio, capacity, and other key indicators of the schools.
- Subject-Wise Distribution:
- Management: 2,493 scholarships
- Science: 1,752 scholarships
- Humanities: 173 scholarships
- Law: 136 scholarships
- Education: 70 scholarships
Educational Institutions and Programs
- There are 390 educational institutions within the metropolitan area offering Classes 11 and 12.
- 104 schools offer science programs.
- 170 schools offer management programs.
- 47 schools offer law programs.
- 18 schools offer education programs.
- 51 schools offer humanities programs.
Application Process and Requirements
- Online Application: The Metropolitan City has opened online application forms for students interested in the scholarship program. The application window is open from 10 AM on Asar 15 to 11:59 PM on Asar 29.
- Eligibility Criteria:
- Students must have a minimum GPA of 1.6 in their SEE exams.
- Community school graduates must have their application certified by their school principal.
- Institutional school graduates must have their application certified by the local ward chairman and the school principal, verifying that the student received a scholarship at the secondary level and recommending them for the reserved quota.

- Examination Date and Time: The scholarship examination will be held on Friday, Sawan 4, from 8 AM to 10 AM.

Kathmandu Metropolitan City Scholarship Examination Details
1. Examination Schedule:
- Subjects and Date:
- Science/Management/Humanities/Education/Law: Examination will be held on 2081 Shrawan 4, from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
- Full Marks and Duration:
- All subjects will have a full mark of 100 and a duration of two hours.
- Candidates can only apply for one educational subject.
2. Online Application Form Submission:
- Submission Deadline:
- Last date for form submission is 2081 Asar 29, by 11:59 PM.
- Application Fee: Free of charge.
- Note:
- Applicants can edit and preview the online form before submission.
- Once submitted, any corrections or additions can only be made by requesting via email to the Metropolitan Office after receiving confirmation.
3. Minimum Qualifications for Various Programs:
- Minimum GPA of 1.6 in SEE.
- Completion of SEE from a community school.
- Permanent residents of Kathmandu Metropolitan City must provide a birth certificate, citizenship, or migration certificate.
- Permanent residents of directly affected areas near the landfill site (Nuwakot District, Kakani Village Municipality Wards 1, 2, 3, and Dhading District, Dhunibeshi Municipality Wards 1, 3, 4) must provide citizenship or birth certificate and a recommendation letter from the concerned ward.
- Students who studied on scholarships up to Class 10 in institutional schools.
4. Entrance Examination Syllabus and Passing Marks:
- Question Type: Multiple choice.
- Syllabus: Based on Class 10 curriculum, with 30 questions each from compulsory mathematics, science, and English, and 10 questions from general knowledge.
- Passing Marks: Minimum of 40% required to pass.
- Negative Marking: There will be no negative marking for wrong answers.
5. Online Application Form Submission Method and Instructions:
- Availability: Online form is available on the Metropolitan's website www.kathmandu.gov.np or entrance.kathmandu.gov.np. Forms must be submitted online within the specified time.
- Priority Order: While filling out the form, applicants must set the priority order of schools based on their desired subject of study. Eligibility will be published accordingly.
- Required Documents:
- SEE admit card
- Passport-sized photo
- Citizenship or birth certificate
- SEE character certificate or transfer certificate or school recommendation letter
- Recommendation letter as per Schedule 1 for students from community schools
- Recommendation letter as per Schedule 2 for students who studied on scholarships in institutional schools
- Certificates mentioned in Section 7(1) for reserved group applicants
- Certificates mentioned in Section 7(2) for permanent residents of Kathmandu Metropolitan City and landfill site residents
- False Information: Applications with false information will be canceled, and admissions, if already granted, will be revoked.
- Filling Details: Applicants need to fill in SEE examination details to proceed to the main form.
- Preview and Submit: After filling out all the details, applicants can preview their entries. Any corrections can be made by clicking the edit button. Once verified, submit the form by clicking the submit button. After submission, corrections are not allowed.
- Uploading Documents: Photos and other necessary documents can be uploaded by taking pictures with a mobile phone.
- Confirmation Page: After submitting the form, a confirmation page will be displayed, which can be printed or downloaded. Note: The confirmation page is not an admit card but proof of online form submission.
- Final Confirmation: Final confirmation will be sent only after the department verifies the details.
