Kapilvastu to be Declared as a Literate District

It has been decided to declare Kapilvastu district as a literate district. The district will be declared a literate district within the current financial year 079/080 from the fifth district assembly organized by the district coordination committee Kapilbastu.

All districts except Kapilbastu of Lumbini province have been declared literate. Similarly, the necessary facilitation and coordination will be done to prepare a detailed action plan with the coordination, partnership, and participation of all local levels to identify possible places for permanent and sustainable management of loose quadrupeds, which is a common problem of the district.

Similarly, it has been decided to implement policies and programs related to ending child marriage and gender violence, and youth development. Baburam Acharya, Head of Coordination, said that during the declaration of an environment-friendly district, excessive use of plastic materials has adversely affected human health and the environment. He said that a decision has been taken to increase public awareness through all local levels of the district and to increase public awareness and implement it.

"Although some municipalities in the district have been declared literate, due to some wards, some municipalities have yet to be declared, but they will be announced soon," he said. Keshab Kumar Shrestha, Mayor of Buddhabhumi Municipality, said that Lumbini State Government should also take special interest in declaring the district literate. He said that even though it is a challenge to manage loose quadrupeds, we are also cooperating with the state and divisional forest office Gautam Budh. Mayor Shrestha said that due to legal hurdles, there are some problems in managing cows.

Kamlesh Sharan Chaudhary, president of Suddhodhan Village, said that if the coordination committee periodically monitors the development works conducted in the municipalities, it will be more effective. He said that although 32 schemes were approved by the Coordination Committee in the last financial year, only 9 were completed. The Coordinating Chairman Acharya presented various policies in the program.

Similarly, in the program, District Coordination Chief Bhumiram Pokharel presented the details of the plans run at the local level under the Budget and Program and Coordination Committee Balance Fund. The chief and deputy chief of all 10 municipalities in the district participated in the program.
