Kami Rita Sherpa Climbs Mount Everest for Record 25th Times
World record climbing guide Kami Rita Sherpa has broken the record in his name. As soon as he climbed the summit of Everest at 6 pm on Friday, 7th May 2021, he broke his record for the 24th time and set it 25 times.
The department of Tourism has also given climber certificates to those who reach the peak of Mt. Everest by making a pave.
Appa Sherpa has set a record by climbing Mt. Everest 21 times, but Kami Rita Sherpa holds the record for most climbers since he climbed Mt. Everest for the 25th time in 2021.
Since Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Edmund Hillary successfully climbed Mt. Everest in 1953, most climbers are unlikely to break the Kamirita record. Climbers are less likely to break Kamirita's record than climbers who have climbed more than 21 times, according to climber guides.
According to the Department of Tourism, 6,507 people have climbed Mt. Everest so far in its 68-year history. This year, 407 people have taken permission to climb Mt. Everest. In 2018, 262 people had climbed Mt. Everest and in 2019, 280 people had climbed Mt. Everest.
