Kageshwari Manohara Municipality of Kathmandu is going to conduct free health examination of students studying in public schools within the city. Kageshwari Manohara is going to conduct a free health examination of eight thousand five students studying in all 16 public schools in the city.

Mayor Upendra Karki said that the municipality has prioritized free health services for senior citizens, free health services for government school children, construction of a city-level hospital with the mayor to keep the city residents healthy. He said that Kageshwari Manohara has made policies and programs by giving priority to education and health sector. To provide quality education with culture, the municipality has allocated a budget of Rs 7 crore from internal sources and is also providing training to teachers.

A budget of two billion 150 million has been allocated for the current financial year. Aiming to provide drinking water to all city residents, the municipality has taken forward three water supply projects.

In order to create a bright and safe municipality, Kageshwari Manohara has prioritized the installation of CCTV and street lights on the main roads and internal roads within the city. The municipality has adopted the policy of managing the waste generated within the city.

Mayor Karki said that Kageshwari Manohara will be developed as a sports city. He said that the construction of Manohara Corridor will also be completed during his tenure. City chief Karki said that the contract was obtained from the main road association and the state government and said that the local government had to listen to the complaints of the people when the road was not built.

"On the main road from Jorpati through Thali to Sankhu, there has been an increase in the trend of taking compensation and not allowing work, this has hindered work," he said.

He said that some political parties have obstructed the work of the municipality by saying that the local government has not built a road that is not within the jurisdiction of the local government. There are 35,000 households and nine wards in the municipality with a total population of 115,000. The municipality said that although there are 50 contracted projects in the current year, four projects have been completed, 42 projects are under construction and the contractor of four projects has not come in contact with the municipality.
