Japan's Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology has awarded six scholarships to Nepalis. Japan has been providing scholarships to Nepali students since 1957, a year after establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries. According to the Japanese Embassy, three for postgraduate studies, two for undergraduate studies, and one for special training have been awarded scholarships this year.
Ambassador Maeda urged Nepali students to make good use of the historic opportunity. He urged them to learn aspects of Japanese culture and focus their studies by using the historical opportunity to contribute to developing Nepal's knowledge and experience gained from Japan. He also expressed confidence that this would further strengthen Nepal-Japan relations.
