Infrastructure construction of Butwal Medical College will start soon: CPN-UML Bishnu Paudel

CPN (UML) Vice-Chairman and Representative House Rupandehi Constituency No. 2 candidate Bishnu Paudel has promised that the infrastructure construction of Butwal Medical College will start soon at Tilottama in Rupandehi.

Addressing the election door-to-door program held in Tilottma Ward No. 1 on Friday afternoon, leader Paudel said that the work of establishing a government medical college in Tilottma had started four years ago and said that the infrastructure construction work would start soon.

Stating that the medical college will be operational sometime after the construction of the infrastructure, he said that with the construction of the medical college, new employment opportunities will be created. He said that the UML-led government is necessary for that.

When Paudel was the finance minister, the concept of establishing Butwal Medical College in Tilottama was advanced. At that time, the preliminary study committee formed under the coordination of Dr. Saroj Ojha, a senior physician, prepared a proposal and submitted a report to the Ministry of Education stating that the land was suitable for establishing a college.

Stating that the DPR of the government medical college has been prepared, leader Paudel said that after the establishment of the medical college, Tilottama will take a leap in the health sector. According to him, a medical college will be built on 200 bigha land of Shankarnagar Community Forest and Karhia Community Forest in Ward  No. 1 and 8 of Tilottama Municipality. Leader Paudel said that according to the master plan, a 1,000-bed hospital will be built.

At the same door-to-door event, Leela Giri, a candidate from Rupandehi Constituency No. 2 (A), discussed the need for a UML-led government for peace and development.
