Inauguration of Himalaya Kiran Public Campus' New Building: A Milestone in Nepal-India Development Cooperation
On a recent Wednesday, a significant stride was made in Nepal-India relations as well as in the education sector of Nepal. Foreign Minister NP Saud and Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava, jointly inaugurated the Himalaya Kiran Public Campus building in the Khandbari municipality of Sankhuwasabha.
Constructed under the aegis of Nepal-India development cooperation, this three-storied academic institution comes with a whopping investment of 3.74 billion rupees.
The campus is well-equipped, featuring:

- Computer Facilities
- Libraries
- Meeting Halls
Foreign Minister Saud emphasized that this state-of-the-art educational facility signifies India's commitment to advancing the cause of education and overall development in Nepal. He was optimistic that this initiative would serve as a cornerstone for educating the next generation and thereby help in constructing a brighter future for Nepal.
Ambassador Naveen Srivastava re-affirmed that this project underscores the robust development partnership between India and Nepal. According to him, this partnership has greatly benefited priority sectors in Nepal in recent years. He assured that the Government of India remains committed to further nurturing this relationship, focusing on mutually beneficial and priority areas for both nations.
The campus is already home to over 600 students and makes a point of promoting diversity and gender equality. Remarkably, 60% of the currently enrolled students are females, showcasing the institution's dedication to inclusive education.
The inauguration of the Himalaya Kiran Public Campus is a testament to the effectiveness of Nepal-India development cooperation. It stands not just as a structure of bricks and mortar, but as a symbol of shared goals and dreams for a more educated and prosperous future for both countries.
