The Home Ministry has warned that action will be taken if any person takes pictures and videos without their consent and publishes them on social media.
The ministry has issued a notice today stating that anyone who publishes a photo or video without the permission of the person concerned and publishes it on social media without consent/permission will be punished according to the prevailing law.
The Ministry of Home Affairs has warned all concerned not to engage in activities such as torturing the public physically and mentally as the ministry has received complaints of secretly making videos in the name of jokes in public places and posting them on social media.
Prank jokes in public places can lead to mental stress, debates, and conflicts and have a negative impact on social harmony and peace. The ministry also warned against taking pictures or videos of people without their permission and not posting them on social media in view of the possible impact on personal privacy and reputation.
