Hitendra Dev Shakya Appointed as Acting Managing Director of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA):
The Ministry of Energy has appointed Hitendra Dev Shakya as the Acting Managing Director of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA). The ministry has appointed Shakya as the acting chief until further notice. He has been reinstated on Monday.
Deputy Executive Director Shakya has been appointed after withdrawing his job from NEA Engineering Company. Energy Minister Barshaman Pun Ananta had instructed Shakya to return the loan at the NEA Board of Directors meeting on Friday.
Led by NEA Engineering Company, a subsidiary of NEA, he is considered to be well versed in the transmission line.
Earlier, the executive director Kulman Ghising had sent him the responsibility of NEA. NEA is a subsidiary of NEA established in 2073 BS to save foreign money in engineering services. Shakya was its managing director.
Prior to 2073, he was involved in a preparatory project under the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC). Shakya, who has a permanent home in East Ilam Bazaar, has done BE. He also has a master's degree in system operation.
