"Higher Education should be Accessible to all Classes and Communities" - PM Oli

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that higher education should be accessible to all classes and communities. Addressing the 46th convocation of Tribhuvan University in a virtual manner, Prime Minister Oli said that education should be for the life of the individual, for the betterment of the nation, and for the progress of the society as a whole and everyone should have the opportunity to get such education.

The Prime Minister said, "I believe that higher education should be equitable and accessible to all classes and communities by removing the situation where the poor cannot get an education." For this, in line with the higher education policy, timely improvement should be made in university education as well. ” He mentioned that in some developed countries, not only basic education is free, but also university education has been made accessible to all. "The state creates the necessary environment for everyone to use the knowledge learned by the students in a creative way," he said. "I think only those with financial status should not have access to higher education."

Prime Minister Oli said that the role of technical education should be further enhanced in the days to come as technical manpower has made a significant contribution to the prosperity of the country. He said, "One of the challenges of Tribhuvan University is to prove its students who have graduated from the university to be able to compete in the global market." He said that quality education is urgently needed today to rise above the numerical growth.
