Gyanendra Malla, who has the responsibility of the captain of the national cricket team, said the players, coaches and cricket team (CAN) should all work together to advance the national team.

Paras Khadka, who has been leading the national team for a long time, said via social media that Ashoj resigned as captain last week. The post was vacant at that time.

After getting the Khadka's official reigned letter, the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has decided to give Gyanendra Malla, who has been the vice-captain's role, the responsibility of the acting captain. Cricket experts say the decision is natural.

Gyanendra Malla has been the vice-captain of the national team since 2009. He has captained a number of players, including the ACC Emergency Team Cup in 2017.

Meanwhile, former captain Paras has congratulated Gyanendra. Paras congratulated Gyanendra on social media, saying, "Congratulations to the most qualified person to be the captain of the national cricket team. I am confident that under his leadership we will reach new heights."

According to CAN Chairman Chanda, Dipendra Singh Ari has been announced as a Vice-Captain. Dipendra Singh Ari has served as a vice-captain in the triangular series with Singapore and Zimbabwe and the T-20 series with Oman.
