The government has made it easy for citizens outside the Kathmandu Valley to register their National Identity Card (Rastriya Parichaya Patra) Details.

The government of Nepal has made it easier for citizens living outside the Kathmandu Valley to register their National Identity Card details by designating certain locations within the valley. Here's what you need to know:

Designated Registration Stations

The Department of National Id and Civil Registration recently issued a notification stating that citizens can register their identity card details at five different locations in Kathmandu and Lalitpur.

District and Area Offices

Currently, citizens can register their National Identity Card details at all 77 District Administration Offices, 42 Locality Administration Offices, Narayanhiti Darbar, and places where the registration campaign is being conducted.

Emergency Services

The government has designated certain locations within the valley to provide convenience to service users outside the valley in case of an emergency. Citizens with permanent addresses outside the valley are requested to register their details at the district administration and area offices.

Registration Places

Among the registration places designated by the government, citizens from all districts except Lalitpur and Bhaktapur of Bagmati Province, and Parsa and Dhanusha districts of Madhesh Province can register their details at the District Administration Office in Kathmandu.

Citizens from Karnali Province and Sudurpashchim Province, and Saptari and Sarlahi Districts of Madhesh Province can register their National Identity Card details at the District Administration Office in Lalitpur.

Citizens from all districts of Koshi Pradesh, Lumbini and Gandaki Pradesh, and Siraha, Mahottari, Bara, and Rautahat districts of Madhesh Pradesh can register their details at the registration place established in Narayanhiti Darbar premises.

Similarly, The registered office of the National Identity Card and Registration Department is open to government employees, subordinate employees, ex-employees, and special officials. Family members of national service employees can get identity card registration services from the details registration station established in the Rastriya Sabha Griha on Exhibition Road, Kathmandu.

Required Documents

To make a National Identity Card, citizens will need to provide the following documents:

  • Full Certificate of Nepali Citizenship
  • Complete Certificate of Immigration in case of immigration
  • Marriage Registration Certificate or Full Certificate of Relationship Opening in case of marriage
  • Office Recommendation in case of employee and Pension Letter in case of ex-employee
  • A copy of the employee's identity card along with this for the family of Rashtrasevak employees

Overall, the government's move to establish registration stations in Kathmandu and Lalitpur provides a more convenient way for citizens living outside the valley to register their National Identity Card details. By having the required documents and visiting the designated registration place, citizens can obtain their National Identity Card with ease.
