Government Decided to Close Educational Institutions Across the Country for Four Days:
The government has decided to close educational institutions across the country for four days. An emergency meeting chaired by Education, Science, and Technology Minister Krishna Gopal Shrestha at the ministry has decided to close the school from Chaitra 17 to 20 (29th March to 2nd April 2021). Speaking at a meeting held on Monday, Minister Shrestha said that the educational institution had to be closed due to inclement weather.
The meeting was attended by Education Secretary Ram Prasad Thapaliya, Science Secretary Dr. Sanjay Sharma, Ministry Spokesperson, and Joint Secretary Deepak Sharma, Joint Secretary Dr. Hari Lamsal, Director General of Education and Human Resource Development Center Baikuntha Aryal, and others. Before the meeting, Minister Shrestha had a consultation with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
Air pollution has been on the rise in various parts of the country, including the Kathmandu Valley, for the past four days. According to water and meteorologists, air pollution has increased due to the increase in fire incidents across the country. According to meteorologists, the temperature in Chaitra has risen due to smoke and clouds above the lower layer of the atmosphere.
