Government Decided the SEE 2076 will not be Conducted

June 11, Kathmandu: Nepal government has decided the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) 2076 will not be conducted, which was postponed last Chaitra due to Covid-19 infection. The cabinet meeting held Wednesday has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology.

The SEE exam, which was supposed to start on Chaitra 6, 2076, was postponed. The decision of the Council of Ministers has relieved 482,000 students across the country who are confused and tense about the exams.

Minister for Education, Science, and Technology Giriraj Mani Pokharel said that the exams could not be held due to the ongoing lockdown and quarantine in schools due to the coronavirus (Covid-19) infection. He informed that the government has decided to consider the internal evaluation of the school as the basis of the examination. The internal assessment of the school will be verified by the National Examination Board and this time the way out of the SEE examination will be found.

After the government's decision, the way has now been opened for the school to evaluate the SEE of the students and determine the grade, but it has become clear that there will be no examination from the old system. The government has changed the old practice of taking the SEE exam as it is not possible to conduct the exam immediately. With this decision of the government, the confusion among millions of students and parents about the SEE exam has been removed.

The proposal was taken up by the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology at its cabinet meeting on Wednesday. Earlier, it was decided to postpone the SEE examination on Chaitra 5, 2076 after the infection of coronavirus (Covid-19).
