Renowned photographer and filmmaker Gautam Dhimal launched his first book ‘Himalayan Fashion Adventure’ yesterday at Location Nepal, Mandikatar. Along with the book launch, the photographer also held a solo photo exhibition, Himalayan Fashion Adventure. “What started from just a normal fashion photoshoot, led to so many adventures, stories, and memories that it ended in a book”, Dhimal said.
A team of highly skilled individuals equipped with high-end gears embarked on a grand fashion journey to Mustang and captured stunning photos and videos. The book is a depiction of the experiences of the team’s adventure in the mountains. “It is a must read for all the aspiring fashion designers, fashion photographers, models, travelers, adventure enthusiasts, as well as travel and landscape photographers”, said Dhimal. “They all would equally benefit from this book”, he added.
Mira Rai, winner of 2017 National Geographic Adventurer of the Year and Photographer Jagdish Tiwari were chief guests of the program. “Dhimal has brought a revolution in fashion and nature photography with Himalayan Fashion Adventure”, says Tiwari. “This is very inspiring for all aspiring photographers and filmmakers”, he adds.
Among the people who attended the photo exhibition was Nepali Congress leader Surendra Raj Pandey. “I am very amused by the work of the team”, he said. “This truly shows that opportunities are there in Nepal for those who work for it”, he added. He also congratulated Dhimal and the team for the success of the adventure photoshoot and the launch of his first book.
Nilam Poudel, the makeup artist for Himalayan Fashion Adventure, teared up while watching a behind-the-scenes video of the shoot in the mountains. “Working under such harsh weather conditions was really difficult,” she said. “I am honored to be a part of this revolution in photography. I am blessed to have formed such beautiful bonds with amazing people through this shoot”, she added.
The book launch was held virtually and the event went live on Instagram Live, Facebook Live, Youtube live, Zoom Webinar, National Television from Location Nepal’s studio. The photo exhibition was also just open for guests yesterday. People can go see the 9-day-long photo exhibition at Location Nepal from 18th February 2022 to 24th February 2022.a
