Free Education for Daughter and Daughter-in-Law at Sahayogi Multiple College:
Educational materials have been distributed to 42 undergraduate students studying in higher education by doing homework. The college is a multi-faceted community campus located at Gokarneshwar-4. Deputy Chief Shanti Nepal said that educational materials were distributed to the women of Gokarneshwor Municipality from the budget under the Deputy Chief Program. She said that the remaining budget has distributed educational materials in all the nine wards of the municipality from the budget of Rs. 3 million allocated for women in the current fiscal year.
According to the municipality, skill-based training has been imparted under the income-generating program including Kausi farming, pickle making, shoe sewing, and weaving various goods. Around 300 women in urban areas have been able to earn a living from this training at home. At a program organized on Friday to distribute educational materials, Deputy Chief of Nepal, Krishna Bahadur Pandit Chhetri, Chairman of Ward No. 2, Nhuchhenarayan Shrestha, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the College, Prem Bahadur Shrestha, Campus Chief said that the distribution of free educational materials has contributed to women's education.
With the help of the municipality, 42 daughters-in-law and daughters studying in the college have been given educational materials including books, copies, and bags. Wards No. 2 and 4 have also contributed Rs. One lakh each for the program. Arrangements have also been made to provide free education to all female students studying at the undergraduate level with the help of the municipality. The municipality has allocated Rs. 4 million in the current fiscal year for the construction of college infrastructure. The Deputy Chief Program with Women will be continued in the coming Fiscal Year as well.
