Final Report of the National Census, 2021 to be Announced in December 2022

The final results of the National Census, 2021 will be announced in December 2022. As part of the census process, the work of processing the data collected from the enumerators and supervisors deployed all over the country has almost reached its final stage.

The Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) informed that 95 percent of the data processing work has been completed and now there are only four districts of Bagmati province namely Bhaktapur, Kavrepalanchok, Makwanpur, and Chitwan.
 
CBS has been working since 2078 Chaitra month by appointing 400 Nepali citizens who have passed 12th standard and have at least three months of computer training during data processing.

According to CBS, 200 people in each shift work for six hours every day from 6:30 am to 12:30 pm and then till 6:30 pm at the CBS Central Office, Thapathali. For the first time, the processing work done in this department will be completed in the coming month of October.
 
CBS has previously given priority to the experienced people who have played the role of Enumerators and Supervisors in the processing process, while the manpower employed in the processing work has been paid at the rate of three paise for entering a number in the computer. According to CBS, the processing work is being done under the direct supervision of the department and the processor who runs the computer fast earns up to Rs 50,000 per month.
  
Director Lamichhane informed that there is a legal system to investigate and decide on complaints/applications by a committee chaired by the secretary of the National Planning Commission, including the constitutional commission related to caste, caste, religion, community, and the committee consisting of representative members of the Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development and the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation. After the completion of the process, the department will announce the final results of the ongoing National Census, 2078.
 
The National Census, 2021 is the 12th in the series of censuses held once every 10 years and the first census of the federal republic system after the promulgation of the Constitution of 2015.
 
Earlier, the department announced the preliminary results of the census, 2021 through virtual means, and stated that the population of Nepal is 29,192,480. In the year 2011, the population of Nepal was 26,494,504.
