Guidelines for Manuscript Submission

Far Western Review is a multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed, bi-annual research journal published by Far Western University, Nepal. It invites articles from national and international scholars. The journal publishes scholarly articles in a wide range of areas and disciplines, including Education, Management, Social Sciences, Law, Science and Technology, Engineering, Agriculture, Natural Resource Management, Animal Sciences, Health Science, Language, Literature, Culture, and Folklore. Authors are requested to submit their manuscripts in Microsoft Word (electronic version) via email to [email protected]. The receipt of the manuscript will be acknowledged through an email.

1. General Guidelines for Manuscript Writing

i. Word Count: Manuscripts should be at least 3,500 words and not more than 7,000 words, including references. Manuscripts that do not adhere to this rule will not be considered for review.

ii. Formatting: The manuscript should be prepared using Microsoft Word. The text should be left-aligned and typed in Times New Roman, 12-point font size, with double spacing between lines. A 1-inch margin should be applied on all sides of an A4 size page.

iii. Abstract: The abstract should be informative and should not exceed 250 words. It should include:

  • a. Objectives
  • b. Methods
  • c. Findings
  • d. Conclusion with implications

iv. Keywords: Following the abstract, 4 to 6 keywords should be included to cover the thematic aspect.

v. Citation Style: APA 7th edition should be followed in citations, references, table format, title, and figure title.

vi. Submission Format: Authors are required to send the manuscript in both Word (.docx) and PDF formats through email to [email protected].

vii. Blind Review Process: To facilitate the blind review process, please ensure that the author's name does not appear anywhere in the manuscript or in the filename. The author's name, designation, and institutional address should be in a separate file.

viii. Language Accuracy: Authors are responsible for checking the accuracy of the language before submitting to the journal. The Editorial Board will not edit submitted manuscripts for style or language.

ix. Originality: Papers submitted must not be under consideration for publication elsewhere, either in electronic or printed form. The corresponding author should declare this when submitting the paper to the Editorial Board.

x. Editorial Rights: The Editorial Board reserves the right to make editorial changes to any manuscript accepted for publication to enhance clarity and style.

xi. References and DOIs

  • Clearly mention DOIs and provide persistent links for those references that have them.

xii. Copyrights

  • The copyrights for articles published in this journal remain with the authors. However, the publisher retains first publication rights.

xiii. Liability for Subsequent Use

  • The publisher is not responsible for subsequent uses of the work. If the author wishes to take action regarding infringement, it is their responsibility.

2. Review Process

  • Before peer review, each paper is screened by a member of the Editorial Board for suitability. If deemed appropriate, the Corresponding Author will be notified of the peer-review process.
  • All manuscripts undergo review by an editor and members of the Editorial Board or qualified external reviewers.
  • The journal aims to provide reviewers' comments within one month. Accepted manuscripts are re-reviewed until necessary revisions are made and are published within two months after acceptance.
  • Upon completing the review process, manuscripts will receive one of the following evaluations:
    • Accepted
    • Accepted with minor revision
    • Accepted with major revision
    • Rejected or declined

3. Manuscript Selection Process

1. General Check

  • The editorial board assesses each received manuscript to determine if it aligns with the journal’s aims and scope. Manuscripts outside the journal's scope are rejected.
  • Articles already published or partially published elsewhere, including online, will not be reviewed.

2. Plagiarism Check

  • Authors must submit only original work, free from plagiarism, and not published or under consideration elsewhere.
  • The journal uses tools like Cross Check (Turnitin) and Copy Killer for plagiarism detection to verify originality.
  • Any manuscripts containing plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, or other academic misconduct will be rejected.

3. Peer Review

  • The journal employs a double-blind review system, keeping both reviewers' and authors' identities anonymous.
  • Submitted manuscripts are reviewed by external reviewers, typically within one month. If necessary, a second review round may be initiated based on feedback.

4. Acceptance/Rejection Decision

  • The decision to accept or reject an article is based on the comments and recommendations provided by the reviewers. The Editorial Board holds the final authority for the publication of manuscripts.

5. Publication of Article

  • Accepted articles will be published based on the recommendations given by reviewers. In certain cases, priority may be given to specific disciplines, as per the decision of the Managerial Board.

4. Format of the Article

  • The general structure of the research article/paper follows the IMRDC format. However, specific variations may be considered depending on the research area.

    • d. Discussion
    • e. Conclusion
  • If the inclusion of a specific review of theories in the introduction section is required to present theoretical evidence, the structure of the research article would include:

    Preliminary Section

    • Title (within 12 words, specific and informative, reflecting the main issues)
    • Author(s) with affiliation details
    • Abstract
    • Keywords

    Main Body

    • Introduction
    • Methods
    • Results and Discussion
    • Conclusion/Implications

    Final Section

    • Acknowledgments (optional)
    • References
    • Appendices (if any)

5. Conflicts of Interest

  • A statement on conflicts of interest must be included in the manuscript if authors receive any support that could potentially influence the results or interpretation of their work. All sources of financial support for the project must be disclosed.
