Encouraging Higher Education among Daughters of Chandranagar: A Progressive Initiative against Child Marriage

In a commendable effort to combat child marriage and promote higher education for girls, the Chandranagar Rural Municipality of Sarlahi has taken a remarkable initiative. Seventy-five girls from the area have been provided with monetary incentives, demonstrating a proactive commitment to social change.

• Championing Girl Education: Spearheaded by Rajkumar Mahato, chairman of the Chandranagar village council, this initiative bestows an incentive grant to girls from the rural municipality who have successfully passed class 12 and are currently pursuing graduation. Each student receives a grant of 11,000 per person, signifying a notable investment in their educational future.

• A Celebratory Event: The grant distribution program was graced by the presence of Mahesh Prasad Yadav, the Minister of Education and Social Welfare of the Government of Madhesh Province.
