Eleven Candidates Applied for the Post of Registrar of Agriculture and Forestry University (AFU):
Eleven candidates have applied for the vacant post of Registrar of Agriculture and Forestry University (AFU), Rampur. The university had opened the application on October 8 for the registrar and two deans of the faculty.
According to the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Dr. Punya Prasad Regmi, 11 applications have been received for the post of Registrar, seven for the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, and eight for the Faculty of Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine, and Fisheries.
For the Registrar Prof. Dr. Arvind Srivastava, Prof. Dr. Kalika Bahadur Adhikari, Prof. Dr. Keshav Adhikari, Prof. Dr. Dilip Kumar Jha, Prof. Dr. Pushkar Bahadur Pal, Prof. Dr. Balram Kumar Bhatt, Prof. Dr. Bhuminanda Devkota, Prof. Mukesh Kumar Singh, Prof. Dr. Mohan Sharma, Prof. Dr. Sharda Thapaliya He informed that Prof. Shyam Shankar Jha's application has been received.
Prof. Dr. Arjun Kumar Shrestha, Prof. Dr. Arvind Srivastava, Prof. Dr. Kalyani Mishra Tripathi, Prof. Jayaprakash Dutt, Prof. Vishnuraj Ojha, Dr. Shiv Chandra Dhakal, and Dr. Santosh Marhattha have applied for the post of Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture. Prof. Dr. Pushkar Bahadur Pal, Prof. Dr. Bhuminanda Devkota, Dr. Manoj Kumar Shah, Prof. Matrika Prasad Jamarkattel, Prof. Mukesh Kumar Singh, Prof. Dr. Sunila Rai, Dr. Suveer Singh, and Prof. Dr. Hom Bahadur Basnet have applied for the post of Dean of the Faculty of Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine, and Fisheries.
Vice-Chancellor Regmi informed that a committee is being formed to select the registrar. The committee will select three applicants from within five days. He said that one of them would be recommended to the Chancellor for appointment to the vacant post of Registrar.
The dean will be appointed by the executive council. He informed that all the work has been completed as soon as possible and preparations have been made to hold the University Assembly (Senate) by November 30. The member secretary and registrar of the university have to present the annual budget in the Senate.
The post of Vice-Chancellor of the University had been vacant since September last year. The government had appointed Prof. Dr. Regmi as the Vice-Chancellor of the University on September 25. The Registrar has been vacant since January 26 and the Deans of the two faculties have been vacant since May 14.
The chairperson of the university's service commission is also vacant. The university has been in a state of disarray for more than a year now. The government established the university in June 2010 to promote the study, research, and dissemination of agriculture in an integrated manner.
