Electricity Regulation Commission Public Hearing Notice Regarding Consumer Electricity Tariff:

Notice of public hearing on the proposal received from Nepal Electricity Authority for determination of consumer electricity tariff

The Electricity Regulatory Commission (Commission) is a regulatory body established under Article 3 of the Electricity Regulation Commission Act, 2074, for the purpose of regulating the power sector in Nepal. The Commission made the production, transmission, distribution and trade of electricity simple, regular, systematic and transparent, maintaining the demand and supply of electricity, regulating the electricity tariff, protecting the rights and interests of the consumers, making the electricity market competitive, and making the electricity service reliable, accessible, quality and efficient. Plays an important regulatory role in securing.

Since the restoration of the office-bearers of the Commission on 2076/1/25, the work of the Commission has been duly carried out. After the establishment of the Commission, various rules, guidelines, and procedures have been prepared and implemented. One of the important tasks of the Commission is the determination of consumer tariff as the Commission has implemented the Electricity Consumer Price Determination Directive, 2076 date 2076/07/29.

In a petition submitted by the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) to this Commission for the determination of consumer electricity tariff on 2020/08/13, the Commission wrote on 2076/08/27, dated 2076/10/27, after submitting the required details. Has submitted additional documents to the Commission as well as the revised electricity tariff. It appears reasonable to seek the opinion, disposition, and response of all stakeholders in this matter, with the objective of ensuring the right to information of stakeholders and the right to a fair hearing and

The power of the Electricity Regulation Commission Act, 2074 and the Electricity Regulation Commission Rules, 2075 are exercised and the public hearing shall be conducted in accordance with the Electricity Regulation Commission Public Hearing Operation Directorate, 2076.

In view of the impact caused by the Coronavirus (Covid-19), the Commission will hold a public hearing in accordance with the following procedures:

1. The public hearing will be held at the following date, time and place:
