Vice President Nanda Kishor Pun (Pasang) has said that reform in the overall aspect of the education sector is needed to enrich the country. Vice-President Pun said that the education sector needs to be reformed in order to make the slogan of a prosperous country and happy Nepali worthwhile.
Addressing the newly-constructed building transfer program of the Jana Jagriti secondary school of Chautara Sangachokgadhi Municipality-12 in Sindhupalchok on Thursday, he suggested that the government should emphasize vocational, technical and skill-based education. Vice-President Pun urged the government to make the present education impossible to live on, it should be made to earn a living.
Vice-President Pun said that education is essential for the prosperity of the country but the present education does not support the development of the society and the nation.
Similarly, Agni Sapkota, a member of the CPN Standing Committee and Member of the House of Representatives, 1, said that teaching, performing skills should be of the nature of education. Former Information and Communication Minister Mohan Bahadur Basnet, a central member of the Nepali Congress, said the government should come up with a solution to find the weakness of education.
