
Bagmati Province University has appointed Dr. Gangaram Biswakarma as the new Dean of the Faculty of Management and Law, effective March 19, 2025. Dr. Biswakarma brings extensive academic and administrative experience to this role, having previously served as an Assistant Professor at the Central Department of Management, Faculty of Management, Tribhuvan University, and as Deputy Director of the Tribhuvan University School of Management. Additionally, he has held a position on the Board of Directors at the Citizen Investment Trust (Nagarik Lagani Kosh) under Nepal's Ministry of Finance.
Dr. Biswakarma’s academic credentials include master's degrees in Human Resource Management, Tourism Management, and Healthcare Service Management. He earned his Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Human Resource Management from reputable universities in India. Further enriching his professional expertise, Dr. Biswakarma has completed numerous professional development programs, including a Faculty Development Program at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Shillong, and certificate courses in Business and Sustainability from the Barcelona School of Management, University of Pompeu Fabra, Spain; IESE Business School, University of Navarra, Spain; People Analytics from Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania; and University Teaching from The University of Hong Kong.
An expert in data analytics, Dr. Biswakarma has undergone specialized training in IBM SPSS from the International Institute of SAS Training and Research in New Delhi, Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) using AMOS at the Institute of Technology Management in Hyderabad, and SEM using SmartPLS with support from Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH) in Germany.
Dr. Biswakarma has authored over 65 research articles, several of which have appeared in Scopus, ABDC ranked journals. He has also published more than ten books on diverse topics including Organizational Behavior, Research Methodology, Entrepreneurship, Performance Management Systems, Managing Human Resources, Strategic Human Resource Management, and the intersection of tourism with indigenous communities. Furthermore, he serves on editorial review boards of numerous national and international academic journals.
In his capacity as Dean, Dr. Biswakarma will oversee the academic programs, research initiatives, and administrative activities within the Faculty of Management and Law. Additionally, he will oversee responsibilities related to the Faculty of Science and Technology, as well as the Faculty of Education and Social Sciences. His objectives include raising academic standards, promoting innovative research practices, and enhancing community engagement. Prior to this appointment, Bagmati Province University had invited applications for the Dean’s position, outlining eligibility criteria such as a Ph.D. from a recognized university, a minimum of five years of teaching experience, and a proven track record of leadership in research and academic administration.
