The Democratic Lawyers Association (DLA) has demanded that legal practitioners be put at the forefront of vaccination, saying that they have been at the forefront of defending the constitution and the law even during the epidemic. Congratulating the newly appointed Health Minister Sher Bahadur Tamang, who is also a legal practitioner and former law minister, the DLA demanded immediate provision of vaccines to the legal practitioners.
A team led by DLA General Secretary Laxmidevi Dahal Rawal visited the ministry and drew the attention of Minister Tamang to the increased risk of infection among legal practitioners as they have to go to court even during prohibitory orders and lockouts.
General Secretary Dahal informed that necessary arrangements have been made to make the first and second vaccinations available to all the legal practitioners across the country who have not been vaccinated keeping in view the condition of the legal practitioners who have been working with their professional responsibility and determination.
He said that Minister Tamang had taken the demand of DLA positively and assured to arrange it as soon as possible.
"Minister Tamang is very positive about our demand. We are confident that he, as a lawyer, will take it seriously and put it on the vaccination list soon," Dahal said.
