The construction of a technology-friendly library has been started in Dhaulagiri Multiple Campus, Baglung. Dr. Surya Pathak, a member of the House of Representatives, laid the foundation stone of the construction of a technology-friendly library building on the campus, which is also the only organic campus in the area.
The construction of the library building was started at a cost of Rs 5 million from the MP Development Fund from the Federal MP. Although it will be a single-story library function this fiscal year, its cost will be Rs 14 million for the construction of the entire structure, said the Machharpurchhe Construction Service, which is in charge of building the library.
According to the campus, technical support is provided by the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRN) in the library. As a local manager, technical cooperation has been done by Baglung Municipality. Machharpurchhe Construction Service said the building of the new library will be completed by mid-July 2020.
Dr. Ram Prasad Upadhyay, Campus Chief of Dhaulagiri Multiple Campus Baglung, said that the new building will become disability friendly and full technology-friendly. Upadhyay, the campus chief, said that a technology-friendly library was being constructed to meet the current needs even though the old library was still in operation. He said that the content in the new library would be accessible to the computer through the software and the students could study from the computer.
The campus is currently teaching undergraduate and postgraduate studies in the Faculty of Education, Humanities, Management, and Science. Engineering and forest science teaching have also been put forward, said the campus. Speaking at the building laying program, MP Pathak said that now billions of money is going out of Nepal for education, and pointed out that the government should bring special programs to stop it.
