DAO in the Kathmandu Valley Postponed Services Except for Urgent Work:
All the three District Administration Offices (DAO) in the Kathmandu Valley have been postponed except for urgent work. The chief district officers (CDO) of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Lalitpur have decided to hold a joint meeting on Sunday to stop non-essential works. Kathmandu Chief District Officer (CDO) Kali Prasad Parajuli said that non-essential services have been postponed from 13 to 20 Baishakh.
Parajuli said that the service has been postponed considering the risk of spreading the infection as the employees working in the office have corona infection and the employees who are in contact with the infected also need to be tested. He also urged the people to adopt alternative methods of service delivery in other crowded offices.
The suspended services include new citizenship, citizenship copy, and juvenile identity card, passport distribution and recommendation, arms registration renewal, organization registration and renewal, and newspaper registration. However, he said that the service will continue in relation to the petitions and issues related to peacekeeping and other urgent recommendations.
Parajuli also said that a meeting of the District Covid Crisis Management Center (CCMC) will be held on Sunday to reduce the congestion, run an awareness campaign, conduct publicity and request all to reduce the congestion by making alternative arrangements for the service flow of the office. He also said that the police has been instructed to fine the person who walks without wearing a mask.
The administration has also requested the service seekers to enter the office wearing masks in full compliance with the public health norms without any unnecessary crowd.
