Chief Minister of Bagmati Province, Shalikram Jammakattel, emphasized the importance of teaching agriculture in education for the development of the agricultural sector in Nepal. During the farewell, honor, and inauguration ceremony of the ICT Lab at Gyanodaya Secondary School, Jammakattel expressed regret over the lack of proposals from the state government in this regard. He urged Gyanodaya to establish an agricultural school in Dhading and promised to provide the necessary support.
Virajbhakta Shrestha, a member of the House of Representatives from Kathmandu Region No. 8, praised the progress made by the school near his home and regarded it as an example of enlightenment among public schools. Similarly, Sunita Dangol, Deputy Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, emphasized the importance of studying subjects of interest for a better education. Sundar Pant, a member of the Central Teachers' Union, expressed his disappointment that despite being the best school in Nepal, Gyanodaya Secondary School has not been declared a model school.
Shankar Adhikari, the president of the All Nepal Teachers' Association, commended Gyanodaya Secondary School as proof of the quality of public schools in Nepal. Meanwhile, the Chairman of the National Examination Board, Mahashram Sharma, emphasized the importance of practicality over grades obtained in the exam and the need to correct the provision that limits the recognition of excellent schools as model schools due to land issues.
During the program, teachers of the school were honored, and students who got the best marks in 10+2 in the years 2076, 2077, and 2078 were given Yashodhara scholarships and certificates. The event also marked the release of the Gyanodaya Herald, a souvenir of Gyanodaya Secondary School.
The ceremony highlighted the importance of including agriculture in education and recognized the efforts of Gyanodaya Secondary School in providing quality education. The program also emphasized the need for practicality and recognition of excellent schools as model schools to promote better education in Nepal.
