Chhatrakot Rural Municipality Gulmi to Offer Free Veterinary Education

Chhatrakot Rural Municipality in Gulmi has decided to offer free education in veterinary science. Municipality Chairman Ramprasad Pandey announced this decision, highlighting the increasing demand for veterinarians across the country.

Chairman Pandey noted that despite the rising demand for veterinarians, there is a lack of interest among students in this field. However, many interested students are unable to pursue their studies due to financial constraints. This decision aims to address that issue.

The municipality had previously faced problems with a lack of qualified applicants when advertising for veterinary officer positions. To tackle this, the executive committee has decided to provide full scholarships to students who pass the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) and wish to study veterinary science. Budget provisions have also been made to support this initiative.

In addition, the rural municipality has a policy to provide full scholarships to students who wish to pursue a bachelor's degree in veterinary science. Chairman Pandey mentioned that students benefiting from these scholarships will be required to serve the municipality for two years after completing their studies.
