Chandrakot Rural Municipality Unveils Comprehensive Educational Textbook 'Hamro Chandrakot'
The Chandrakot Rural Municipality in Gulmi celebrated the launch of a new textbook titled 'Hamro Chandrakot' on January 6, 2024. This pioneering educational resource, aimed at students from classes 1 to 8, was unveiled in a formal ceremony attended by key local dignitaries, including Dron Bahadur Khatri, Head of the District Coordination Committee, Yuvraj Khatri, Vice Chairman of the Rural Municipality, and Bishnu Prasad Bhandari, Vice President of the Rural Municipality.
The textbook, designed to align with the local curriculum, delves into a variety of subjects pertinent to the Chandrakot region. It encompasses the local geography, natural resources, religious practices, cultural diversity, and social structure of the community. Notably, it also covers essential topics such as traditional skills, livelihoods, development infrastructure, health, nutrition, first aid, disaster risk management, green schools, and sustainable development practices, integrating modern technology and sustainability concepts.
Yuvraj Khatri, during the event, expressed his gratitude to all those who contributed ideas and supported the textbook's development. Drona Bahadur Khatri highlighted the significance of incorporating local curricula in textbooks to enhance students' understanding of regional topics and issues.
'Hamro Chandrakot' stands out as a vital educational tool that not only educates young minds about their local environment and heritage but also equips them with knowledge and skills for global competence.
