Chandragiri Municipality of Kathmandu Valley Sealed for One Week:

The Chandragiri Municipality of Kathmandu Valley has sealed the municipality for a period of one week. From Jestha 1 to till Jeshta 7 (15th May to 21st May), from 6 am to 5 pm, the public is completely banned from walking. For the prevention and control of Covid-19 infection with new variants, services other than essential services of pharmacies and health institutions and all food shops, grocery stores, meat shops, fruit and vegetable shops, shops including construction businessmen, municipal ward offices, city-operated schemes. Government, non-government, banks, and financial institutions have completely shut down the services of all private offices and sealed the municipality.

Drinking water, means of transportation, milk production, and means of transportation of milk produced by the dairy industry have been allowed to operate in compliance with the health safety standards. Similarly, vehicles carrying garbage including livestock seeds, agricultural seeds, seeds, agricultural products, pharmaceutical industry will be allowed to operate in compliance with health standards during the sealed period.

Meanwhile, a security check has been tightened at Nagdhunga, the entry point to the valley, after the municipality was sealed.

Except for emergency vehicles, ambulances, and food transport vehicles, work has been done to divert them from the entrance. As the municipality has issued a public notice on May 12 (29th of Baishakh 2078), there are not many vehicles to be returned from the border, said the security personnel. Nagdhunga Naka is also seen deserted on Saturday. Only ambulances and other essential vehicles have been operated. The municipality has become deserted as the general public has not been able to go out of their houses. There are no ordinary people walking on the highway like on other days.
