Chairperson and Member Recommended in Province Public Service Commission, Gandaki Province:
The Gandaki Province Government has recommended the appointment of Bishnu Prasad Nepal as Chairperson and Kalpana Lamsal, Assistant Chief of Adikavi Bhanubhakta Campus, Damauli, Tanahu, as a member of the Province Public Service Commission, Gandaki Province (Gandaki Pradesh Lok Sewa Aayog.
The committee comprising the Chief Minister, the Chairman, and the Leader of the Main Opposition, and the Speaker has recommended the commission officials. The Act of the Commission envisages a chairperson and a member office bearer including a woman. Now the recommendation of another member is left. The appointment of the recommended chairperson and members by the Province Chief will be sworn in by the Chief Justice of the Pokhara High Court.
Chairman Nepal and member Lamsal will be sworn in by the Chief Justice of the High Court on Sunday. The law to make arrangements for the work, duties, rights, and procedures of the Provincial Public Service Commission of Gandaki was enacted in Shrawan in 2076 BS.
The Chief Minister had spent so much time in search of a suitable person for the post. As there were no officials in the commission, the state itself could not even recruit staff. On the other hand, even without the Federal Civil Service Act, the state has a problem in recruiting staff.
The term of office of the chairperson and members of the commission shall be six years from the date of appointment. The age limit is 65 years. The law has made provision for non-reappointment of chairperson and members.
