The Corona epidemic has affected this year's national census campaign. If the situation was normal, the census, which is scheduled to start on June 8 (Tuesday) and end on June 22, could not start due to the coronavirus epidemic.
According to the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), this is the first time in history that a census conducted every 10 years has not been completed on time. This is the first time that CBS has failed to hold the national census on time. Census has been postponed in more than 60 countries due to the corona epidemic.
According to the Central Bureau of Statistics, the census has been halted due to the Corona epidemic. CBS is preparing to complete the census from July to September by managing the budget for the next fiscal year as it is not sure that Corona will pay for the work within this fiscal year. CBS has informed that it will take some time as refreshment training has to be given to the supervisors who have been trained earlier. The CBS has also stated that it is preparing to take the proposal to conduct the census from June 30 to October to the Council of Ministers in the first week of July.
CBS has set up offices in all seven states and 77 districts and selected 8,000 supervisors and 39,000 enumerators. The CBS had already prepared the center and training materials for the training to be held at the district and local level and sent them to the district.
