Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) Estimated 3.98 Pc Economic Growth in Current Fiscal Year:
The Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) has initially estimated that Nepal's economic growth rate will be 3.98 percent in the current fiscal year. The preliminary estimate of this growth rate has been made public by CBS based on the data related to the economic sector for 7 to 9 months of the current fiscal year. The same growth rate is projected to be negative at 2.12 percent in the last fiscal year.
The contribution of the service sector to the GDP has slightly increased. However, the contribution of the primary and secondary sectors has declined. The contribution of agriculture, forest, fisheries, and mining to the GDP is estimated at 26.4 percent. According to CBS, the increase in paddy production in the current fiscal year has contributed to the growth of the sector.
The industry and construction sector is estimated to have contributed 12.5 percent in the current fiscal year. The contribution of the service sector is estimated to be 61.1 percent.
