The Center for Education and Human Resource Development (CEHRD) has directed the local level and district coordination committee to monitor such work while stopping the entrance examination for admission to class 1. The Early Child Development Branch of CEHRD has instructed not to take the entrance exam for admission to class 1 and to stop the preparatory work for it.

In the letter written by CEHRD to the local level, it has been asked to 'not even conduct preparatory classes for admission to class 1' and to 'monitor'. The center has also instructed the education development and coordination units to coordinate the work.

The letter states: 'National Education Policy, 2076, Compulsory and Free Education Act, 2075 and its Regulations 2077, Education Act 2028 and Regulations, 2059 National Curriculum Format for School Education 2076, Early Child Development and Education Curriculum 2077 and Basic Level (class 1-3) Curriculum 2076 has provided clear guidance regarding the admission, development and learning activities, development and learning evaluation and grading of children in the Child Development Center, Early Child Development Pre-Primary Education and Basic Level (Class 1-3).

According to the center, the pre-primary classes of the Montessori and institutional schools established according to the concept of the Child Development Center are teaching, reciting and memorizing, and giving homework of a similar nature, without doing activities that develop the children.

As some schools have been found to be conducting entrance exams for admission to class 1, the center has mentioned that actions such as making children memorize mugs for months in the name of preparatory classes for entrance exams will harm the creativity and inherent talent of children.

According to complaints from stakeholders and experts that such actions are taking place, the center has instructed to organize only activities for the overall development of children in pre-primary classes of Montessori and institutional schools.
