Bhakti Pathak has been elected under the new leadership of Nepal Hostel Association.
The seventh annual general assembly in Kathmandu has elected the Pathak to a chair. For the new leadership of the association, Gobind Giri, the general secretary of the incumbent Working Committee, has been defeated by three votes.
According to Election Committee Coordinator Subas Koirala, out of a total of 692 voters, 541 voted. In which, Bhakti Pathak received 263 votes. Similarly, Arun Parajuli has been victorious in the Senior Vice President. He defeated Kedar Thapa, a candidate for the same post, by a margin of 49 votes.
Similarly, the incumbent Treasurer Urmila Bhattarai (Baral) has been victorious in the women's vice-president. She defeated Gyanu Joshi with 73 votes.
Rupali Guragain (Poudel), the incumbent president of Kathmandu district, has won the general secretary.
She defeated the outgoing Lalitpur district president Sunita Bataju with 64 votes. Secretary Dandi Prasad Gautam is victorious while Pooja Joshi is the treasurer.
Similarly, Kalpana Acharya, Rajkumar KC, Ghanshyam Risal, Ganesh Acharya, Radhika Ghimire, and Hari Prasad Bhatwal were victorious in the central members respectively.
The tenure of the elected working committee will be two years. Nepal Hostel Association has around 700 hostel members all over Nepal. The newly elected chairman Pathak said that identifying and solving various problems in the hostel business would be the primary task of the working committee.
