Badikedar Rural Municipality Provides Wi-Fi Devices to Community Basic Schools for Broadband Internet Services
Badikedar Rural Municipality of Doti has taken a significant step towards digitalizing education by distributing Wi-Fi devices for broadband internet services to 32 community basic schools. This initiative was taken as a part of an agreement made by the municipality with the federal government, with the support of the Telecommunication Authority.
4G Service Enabled Wi-Fi Devices Distributed
The Wi-Fi devices distributed by the municipality are equipped with SIM cards running 4G services to provide a high-speed internet connection. This initiative aims to enhance the effectiveness of teaching work by integrating new technology into education.
Head of Education, Youth and Sports Branch of Badikedar Rural Municipality, Bibek Deuba, shared his views on this initiative. He believes that the availability of internet services in schools will make it easier for teachers to inform students about new subjects, thus enhancing the learning experience.
Connecting 41 Schools with Internet Services
There are 41 schools in total, including 32 primary schools and nine secondary schools under Badikedar village administration. The municipality has already connected the secondary schools with internet services, and now the primary schools have been provided with Wi-Fi devices to facilitate the same.
Creating Computer Teacher Posts
The municipality has taken another significant step towards digitalizing education by creating posts of computer teachers in 22 schools and managing them. This move will help students to acquire computer literacy and promote the integration of technology in education.
Telecommunication Authority Will Bear the Fee for Two Years
The Telecommunication Authority will bear the necessary fee for two years to operate the internet on the device provided to the school with a SIM, and later on, the school will take up the management. Each Wi-Fi device provided to the school comes with a price tag of Rs 73,900.
The initiative taken by Badikedar Rural Municipality to distribute Wi-Fi devices for broadband internet services in community basic schools is a significant step towards digitalizing education.
